More about Lawyer's Aid Service Lawyer's Aid Service, Inc. was formed in 1980 and has grown every year since then. The errands and other services it performs for attorneys and their staffs have grown from a handful a week to an average of 500 a week. The company is housed on the ground floor in its own building four blocks from the UT Austin campus. The upstairs floor of the building is a small UT residence hall called Abbey House (we manage two student residences). The staff size is about twenty full- and part-time people, many of whom are college students. Over the past 20 years, many of the Lawyer's Aid staff have gone on to become Texas attorneys, CPAs, and paralegals. The Secretary of State staff says that documents drafted and filed by Lawyer's Aid Service have fewer errors than those of any other company, including large law firms. It is challenging to work at Lawyer's Aid Service. Most of our long-term clients want their incorporations, document filings, and document retrievals to be done quickly, smoothly, and accurately. That's what we endeavor to give them every day. Our clients often rely on us to be knowledgeable in areas they are not, and our daily contact with the agencies and courts in Austin makes us expert at quick, efficient filings and retrievals of documents. There is a lot to learn. You'll receive plenty of training.
